I work for Counseling in Schools (Bilingual Mental Health Practioner (LCAT, ATR-P) in collaboration with the Department of Education to provide support for students navigating mental health challenges that affect overall functioning and academics, providing treatment that integrates visual arts therapy and trauma-informed interventions. Focus on enhancing students' social and emotional growth, while facilitating open studio-group activities that promote active engagement and connection. Collaborate with the DOE social worker to address both individual and group needs, staying attentive to signs of physical and emotional distress. Intervene proactively to prevent crises and foster positive solutions. Encourage peer relationships and social engagement, helping students develop healthy coping strategies and resilience. Organize and maintain arts materials and supplies to facilitate creative expression, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
