Answer a high volume of phone calls, medication refills, and general inquiries.
Handle and resolve clients complaints in a timely manner
Clarify medication orders from long term care facilities.
Triage incoming faxes by facility/department and in accordance with cutoff times.
Follow up with doctor offices for order clarification and narcotic scripts.
Investigate and provide detailed medication information via Mediprocity, email, phone call, etc.
Enter new orders for staff pharmacist review.
Implement the medical center's scheduling, pre-registration, pre-certification, referral procurement and insurance verification policies.
Capture and enter appropriate documentation of patient registration and demographic information in the patient hospital billing system (EPIC) to maximmize billing accuracy.
Coding and scheduling patient services.
Mediate daily scheduling, pre-registration, and registration issues.
Identify the needs of the patient population served (age, culture, language, hearing, visually impaired)
Communicating with the patient, parent, primary care giver at their level of education, developmental/age, literacy.
Review prescription records and document prescriptions related to State/Federal controlled substance laws/regulations including state Prescription monitoring program laws for compliance.
Focus on correcting errors for state prescription monitoring programs.
Support pharmacy teams in the correction of inaccurate sent to state PMPs.
Coordinate accurate and timely reporting of PMP data with pharmacy operations, information services, and third party.
Review regulations for reporting changes and work with supervisor to implement.
