•Troubleshoots equipment to find out why it’s not working by
- Looking and listening for problems.
- Using tools like engine analyzers, compression testers, voltmeters, and pressure gauges.
- Running computer diagnostic tools to check for issues (MSD)
•Uses built-in diagnostics and various system analyzers from manufacturers to
- Identify the exact problem that needs fixing.
- Decide by doing an PMCS if any extra repairs are needed beyond what is listed in the work order.
•Removes and takes apart engines and major parts, including
- Fuel, hydraulic, and oil pressure systems.
- Repairs or makes changes to follow the correct repair guidelines.
- Puts engines and systems back together, adjusts them, and re-installs them in vehicles or equipment
•Makes adjustments and repairs to electrical and suspension systems
- Pistons, sleeves, rings, bearings, rods, crankshafts, timing gears, and rocker arms.
•Works independently on repairs and maintenance in remote places by removing, cleaning, reinstalling, or replacing broken parts like
- Injectors, leaking wheel cylinders, corroded mufflers, fuel tanks, brake cylinders, worn brake shoes, voltage regulators, generators, injector pumps, and fuel pumps.
•Provides help and leadership to less experienced team members
- Assists junior mechanics with major repair tasks or guide them on how it’s done.
•Helpful with every member from using Fedlog, ordering parts properly, and looking up the usable on code
