Summary

Teaching is more than preparing a well-rounded syllabus. It is more than perfectly aligned desks, classroom rules, discipline and orderliness. Teaching is so much more. Greetings Fellow Educators/Case Managers: Please acknowledge this humble correspondence as a formal introduction of both my academic and professional backgrounds. As a recent graduate from Elmhurst College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Intercultural Studies, and a master’s in special education, I have been graciously afforded the opportunity to engage in meaningful interaction with individuals from a wide range of cultures and broaden my experience by networking with a host of students and educators during required observation hours. I am skilled in traditional classroom management. However, my strength and greatest passion is nontraditional settings abetting students with mild to profound special needs, behavior, emotional and cross categorical conditions. I am able to adapt to this distinctive environment with confidence, professionalism, and an optimistic attitude. It is my desire to connect with and become an integral part of an elite team of likeminded educators who, like me, are passionate, patient and purpose driven; demonstrating a committed relationship to and with the student’s personal growth and development, even if it means a departure from the mainstream classroom and coveted laurels thereof. If given the opportunity, I am more than willing to perform above and beyond. I have ample experience working in a variety of settings as noted in my resume, i.e., substitute teacher, Paraprofessional, Child Welfare Attendant, and Library Aid. With previous employers, I have earned a reputation of being one that can multi-task efficiently, perform well under pressure, and meet crucial deadlines. I am well-organized, resourceful, self- motivated and can adjust quickly to new and changing processes. If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way the child learns. -Ignacio ‘Nacho’ Estrada- OBJECTIVE My passion is educating. I am skilled in traditional classroom management and receive immense pleasure therein. However, my greatest passion lies within the context of nontraditional classroom settings abetting students with mild to profound special needs and cross categorical conditions. It is my desire to connect with and become an integral part of an elite team of likeminded educators who, like me, are passionate, patient and purpose driven; demonstrating a committed relationship to and with the student’s personal growth and development, even if it means a departure from the mainstream classroom and coveted laurels thereof. My passion is educating. I am an Energetic Teacher with12 years of effective classroom management and curriculum delivery. Remains composed and calm in all situations. Dedicated to fostering academic, social and emotional development. Dedicated and passionate educator with proven track record successfully leading student discussions and providing individualized instruction. Communicates effectively with administrators, faculty and parents. Well versed in educational standards and innovative teaching methods.
