As a Facility Lead at Washington University’s Sumers Recreation Center, I oversee daily facility operations, ensure participant safety, and deliver exceptional customer service. I supervise student staff during each shift, delegate tasks, provide feedback, and serve as the primary communication link between student employees and professional staff. My role includes managing opening and closing procedures, responding to emergencies, supporting high-traffic activity areas, and ensuring all spaces remain safe, clean, and welcoming for members and guests. I also train and mentor new staff, coordinate with outside user groups, and help uphold WashU Rec’s mission to inspire participation and promote lifetime wellness.
In this role, I served as a front-line staff member at the Gary M. Sumers Recreation Center, supporting daily facility operations and guest services. I welcomed and assisted patrons, monitored activity spaces to ensure safety and policy compliance, managed equipment rentals, and maintained a clean, organized environment. I also provided logistical support for fitness programming and special events, including equipment setup and breakdown. Through clear communication with guests and consistent enforcement of facility rules, I helped foster an inclusive, safe, and accessible recreational space for the university community.
As a preschool nursery teacher at Washington University Nursery School, I created a joyful, play-based environment where children were encouraged to explore, imagine, and grow. Our days were filled with singing and dancing to songs from around the world, outdoor play, creative arts, and calm transitions that support emotional development. Through guided routines and age-appropriate experiences, I nurtured independence and collaboration, ensuring every child felt seen, heard, and supported.
At Orzo Grill, I’ve taken on multiple roles including food server, cashier, cook, and cleaner. Over the past four years, this experience has helped me develop a strong work ethic and a range of valuable life skills. I’ve strengthened my communication abilities through customer interactions, learned to work independently, and gained hands on experience in time management and multitasking in a fast paced environment.
As a Data Entry Specialist at Full Circle Placements, I managed and organized candidate related correspondence. My responsibilities included identifying and tracking delivery issues to clients and accurately logging them in category specific spreadsheets. Through this role, I developed strong computer and organizational skills, along with proficiency in Excel and data management tools.
At the age of fifteen, I joined Fallon’s Bar and Grill as a hostess. In this introductory role, I was tasked with greeting and seating guests, managing a detailed and often fast-changing seating chart, and coordinating table assignments. Additionally, I took responsibility for maintaining the cleanliness and overall presentation of the dining area to ensure a welcoming environment for all customers.
