As a Kindergarten/First grade teacher I worked with 25-26 students with Reading, Writing, Math, Social Studies, Art, Science.  Students excelled in the attaining understanding of concepts and I was able to refer 6 students for outstanding talent.  (2 students referred for gifted/talented-1 student was accepted into the program, 3 students were accepted into the Kids Orchestra after school program)  As a teacher I will always facilitate the students to determine areas of strength and interest.  Students are currently taking tests to determine reading placement next year.  Results are not available yet.

Art Instructor

As an art instructor in the summer camp I was responsible for 15- 18 students were class and encouraged them to create projects centered around summer interests.  Students created decorative planters, 4th of July banners and United States pattern walkways with chalk.  All students projects were on display at the end of the camp for parents and supporters.

First Grade Teacher

Brookstown Elementary
Baton Rouge
08.2005 - 05.2010
As a First Grade teacher at Brookstown Elementary I encouraged students to understand concepts in Reading, Math, English Language Arts, Social Studies and Science.  Many students were referred to receive Art/Talented, Gifted/Talented and Visual Arts/Talented screening.  I believe that the arts in music, painting, drama and dance strengthened self confidence in students.

Educator

Brookstown Elementary
Baton Rouge
06.2009 - 08.2009
I was employed at the Boys and Girls camp at Brookstown during the year and during the summer sessions.  This camp was very exciting, engaging and fun for students and teachers.  We were able to work on concepts from summer packets,  create projects for programs and display them throughout the summer.  We took field trips related to many of the concepts we reinforced during the summer sessions.
