Summary

With over three decades of experience, including a pivotal role at Irwin Guides, I've honed my expertise in outdoor education and avalanche safety. A former PSIA National team member and AIARE certified instructor, my career is marked by a passion for working in the ski industry as a guide or instructor. My aim is to create exceptional backcountry experiences in a safe environment. What binds all of these experiences together is my ability to connect with people. I am easy going and hard working.

Work History

Ski Guide and Instructor

Irwin Guides
10.1997 - Current

1980's Conducted outdoor education classes for high school groups, including BC skiing, hiking, rafting, and climbing in Southeast Australia and New Zealand's North Island.


Spent consecutive winters teaching telemark and Nordic skiing at Sugarloaf ME in the late 80's into the early 90's.


1990-91 Helped run CVA academy ski camps for a summer skiing experience on Blackcomb glacier.


1993 Began teaching skiing at CBMR (Crested Butte Mountain Resort )and Guide training with Jean Pavillard from Adventures to the Edge.


1994-2000 Skied in the Valdez region of Alaska with renowned skiers like Doug Coombs and Dean Cummings during annual Heli skiing excursions.


Acted as Rossignol technical representative for Telemark and Nordic areas covering Colorado, Utah, New Mexico in the 90s.


Spent two months in 1999 skiing various iconic routes in Chamonix.


Developed AIARE curriculum and instructed avalanche courses for 15 years with Crested Butte Mountain Guides and Irwin Guides.


Worked for Adventure To The Edge, Crested Butte Mountain Guides and Irwin Guides as backcountry guide or avalanche instructor from late 1990’s to 2023.


Contributed to planning and strategy as a board member from 2004-2010.


Instructed Alpine and telemark skiing at CBMR for 21 years.

Represented PSIA National team for Telemark and Nordic at Interski events in St. Anton from 2004 to 2016.


Skied annually in Japan from 2006 to 2023, excluding the COVID years 2021 and 2022.


Founded International Mountain Adventures in 2009 with a focus on skiing excursions.
