Working with Dogs 24/7 was an amazing experience. I learned dog behaviors, training exercises, and how to handle a room full of 100+ dogs. I was promoted to supervisor after approximately 5 months and continued working in the business from June 2022 through December 2023. As a supervisor, I helped oversee the dog handlers in each dog room, taught employees training techniques and dog behaviors, and checked clients in and out. In December, I moved to a different daycare for a new experience. I stayed there for a few months and ended up back with Dogs 24/7 and was subsequently promoted to manager. Being manager was a different experience from being a supervisor with more and different responsibilities. As a manager, I made employee schedules, constructed employee meetings, interviewed and hired new employees, prepared and made cash deposits, processed refunds and invoices, made sure the pups got all the care and love they needed, and helped the business run smoothly throughout the day and night.
I worked 8 hour shifts, 5 days a week, sometimes more. My shifts varied from 12pm-8pm, 6am-2pm, and sometimes 8pm-6am overnight shifts.
