Looking for a job where I can be creative and make a difference in the lives of little ones. I have a special interest in literacy development along with assisting parents, when possible, in helping their children to learn.
Coached caretakers (mainly in homes, but also in preschools and childcare) to help them learn strategies and next steps to help their little ones gain language and pre-literacy skills .
Gave standardized and non-standardized assessments, along with formative learning to monitor language and vocabulary development and to inform future lesson planning.
Collaborated with parents, caretakers, medical professionals and service coordinators, along with other service providers to provide best outcomes and to meet goals developed on each IFSP.
Supported other teachers working on National Board Certification.
Taught basic beginning sign language to families that chose this as an option.
Spent time on the program newsletter committee where I was in charge of writing articles promoting literacy quarterly.
Taught 4th and 5th grade students with hearing loss.
Taught 3 and 4 year old students with hearing loss in a self contained classroom.
Taught junior high students with Autism in a self-contained classroom.
Taught general education classes to 4th graders in a self- contained classroom
2 time National Board Certified Teacher
Published my first book, Disgusting Dinner, in July, 2024, which won a Gold Moonbeam Children's Book Award in the category of Holidays.
