  • My shift would start with showing up to dispatch to collect my daily manifest and keys for assigned vehicle. Once I have my vehicle for the Shift I perform a D.V.I.R for documentation of the vehicles status and to determine if it is roadworthy or if the vehicle needs to be set aside for maintenance. Once all the initial inspection is done I log in to the vehicle’s system tablet and start route. On route drivers follow the manifest to pick up passengers at pickup location and take them to drop off location. If the passenger needs helps boarding the vehicle I help them manually or with the use of the side entrance lift. If the passenger is in a wheelchair I use the side entrance lift to board the passenger and lock them into a safe position with floor securement straps. On each ride I would have to collect payment for the trip and set it aside for the end of the shift to turn in a report and collected fees for the shift. During the entire shift I would document pickup times, drop off times, mileage for pickup, mileage for drop off, any incident report, my lunch break and mileage at end of shift with end of shift D.V.I.R. Inspection. If the vehicle needed gas I would pump gas with a company gas card at the end of shift and I would leave the vehicle clean for the following shift use. At end of shift I would report back to dispatch with all my paperwork and turn in the keys to the vehicle.
