Operate all circuits in an efficient manner that optimizes recoveries and production. Operate mobile equipment, skidsteers,loaders,forklifts,and overhead cranes. Keep inside and outside of Mill clean and clear of any hazards. Operate Control Room monitor settings and keep a balance of in coming and outgoing water and ore. Prepare and send out daily reports. Follow all safety and environmental standards.
Completed first 500 hours of training for the back up Control Room Operator of “B” crew by September 2016. Proficient in operating forklifts, bobcat skid steer with bucks, forks and barrel handler. Operate 928 Caterpillar front end loader with bucket and forks to plow snow, dig dirt and maintain roads. Operate overhead cranes to move heavy material from one end of the mill to the other. Completed Courageous Safety Leadership #1 through #4 training. Used hammers, hacksaws, power tools, tape measures, rulers, squares, ratchets, pipe wrenches, wheel barrows and shop brooms. Repair piping and pumps, and repair, level and fill roads. Haul equipment, lift and move up to 75 pounds on a regular basis, more on occasion. Paint and work outside in extreme cold and heat. Wear and maintain respirators and work gloves. Know and follow all safety procedures.
OPERATE CRUSHER: Complete all pre-operation and safety check before start of shift. Fill out hourly production report.
Use computer to control all conveyors, feeders, crushers, screen decks and flop gates to control which bin rock deposits into. Set gallons per minute for water going to dust collectors. Set the number of tons per hour to crushers and monitor amps on crushers.
Distribute rock evenly to three fine ore bins for ball mills. Use brooms, shovels, wheel barrows, water hoses and air hoses in clean up.
Monitor oil levels for crushers and add oil when needed.
Know location of electrical breakers and how to properly lock out for safety and maintenance. Keep all entryways and travel ways clean of tripping hazards, snow and ice. Know where and how to operate firefighting equipment, fire extinguisher and fire system.
OPERATE DEWATERING SYSTEMS: Complete routine safety and operations checks. Fill out pre-shift paperwork and production reports. Fill out paperwork and weigh scale for truck drivers hauling concentrate.
Maintain lead and zinc concentrate filters. Check oil levels of machines, air pressures of system and holding tanks. Mix reagents: Copper, Lime and Xanthate to required strengths and densities. Operate and maintain pumping systems for reagents, water and flotation system.
Know location of each water line, airline and valves and at what level the water and air lines need to be. Able to operate Dewatering Computer Systems.
OPERATE GRINDING SYSTEM: Control settings of grinding system through computer system. Maintain number of kilowatts on grinding mill through amount of Rock Feed, Grinding Balls and water. Keep record of density of slurry coming out of the mills being fed to flotation system through cyclones. Complete all pre-operations checks, check all guarding, travel ways, lubrication systems and cooling systems. Maintain and repair piping system and pumps.
CONTROL ROOM OPERATOR: Use Pend Oreille Mine’s computer system to operate and control all systems of the mill including crusher, dewatering, grinding, flotation and tailings.
Monitor radio communication of all operations of both mine and surface. Know all safety and emergency procedures for mine and surface including: Fires, Floods, Ground fall, Death, and severe accidents. Also monitor both surface and underground cameras for security and safety.
Monitor cameras in all mill areas to determine what is necessary to maintain operations and to keep up on recoveries. Monitor computer for amounts of fragments distributed, air pressures and slurry levels regarding what quality of ore is coming into the mill for getting a high recovery rate.
Monitor phone system for mine.
Able to use ordering system on computer and maintain records for production, distribution of reagents and mixing. Monitor the equipment operating on the mine site to include, pumps, electrical motors that run the equipment, air pressures, water pressures and feed into the mill.
Control all operations and maintain recoveries from the control room. Fill out and send end of shift report via the computer.
After the initial shutdown of the Troy Mine, was called back to work at the mine to help operate and maintain all areas of the Ball Mill and Tailings Operations which consisted of the following:
FLOTATION: Monitor recoveries with use of reagents, densities of slurry and fed them through cyclone and pumping system. Maintenance and repair of water pipes, pumps, and grinding mills. Mixed reagents and monitored the online analyzer system. Used control panel to control pumps and machines in the system and where all electrical breakers are located.
TAILINGS: Maintained tailings operations and repairs. Replaced pipe when needed with a two-ton stake bed truck with crane. Operated CAT front end loader to repair roads and move materials. Cut and trimmed trees with chainsaws. Plowed and shoveled snow. Secured and hauled supplies on two-ton stake truck. Disposed of trash and made necessary carpentry repairs. Welded and operated a cutting torch, wrenches and sledge hammers in the maintenance, repair and installation of small pumps, sprinkler system and plumbing and irrigation system. Performed daily checks on equipment and maintained forklift, front end loaders and two-ton stake truck. Followed all safety procedures, wore all proper personal protective equipment and participated in annual MSHA Training for recertification.
Operated and maintained all machinery in a Fingerjoint lumber mill. To include grading lumber, feeding lumber into mill, cutting out flaws from lumber using chop saws and hand power saws, staking and banding lumber. Wrapped lumber and properly labeled it for shipping. Operated automatic stacker. Know all functions of control panels. Used brooms, rakes and shovels to keep mill clean. Operated forklift and front-end loader. Kept lumber yard free of trash and kept weeds trimmed. Worked outside in hot and cold conditions. Followed all safety rules and lock out procedures.
Rode bus to mine site from camp, dressed out for underground and attended daily safety briefing and lineout. Proceeded to underground either riding or operating a tractor. Gathered all supplies and tools needed for underground tasks. Tools and supplies gathered include the following: 2, 4 and 8-inch pipe, ventilation bags, pumps, Victaulics, wire, chain, water values, air valves, nuts, bolts, hooks, hose for pumps and air and water fans for ventilation. Also, gathered tools for jobs such as, electric saws, impact wrenches, scaling bars, wrenches, wire cutters, chain cutters, shovels, sledge hammers, hammers, screw drivers, chain hoists, chain binders, straps and hack saws. Operated heavy equipment such as forklifts, boom getman, basket getman, muckers, haul trucks and tractors. Monitored and maintained electric and pneumatic pumping system. Hauled the following supplies into the mine: Roof bolts, wire, ventilation bags, 2,4,8-inch pipe, 2,4,8-inch Victaulics wire, roof plates, drill steel and elbow for piping. Completed all of the following tasks: hanging 2 and 4-inch water pipe, hanging 8 inch backfill pipe, installing pumps, putting up and taking down ventilation bags and fans. Installing and removing water and air valves, sealing headings, hauling explosive to the powder mag, hauling and filling 25-ton haul truck to paste plant, mucking out wash bays with mucker, installing swell x bolts for past hangers, operating water truck, maintaining roads and following all safety and traffic rules.
