Summary

My family (our children and grandchildren) has been eagerly coming annually to the Snowmass Club for twenty-five years. My wife and I have been owners at the club for ten years, often 3-4 weeks annually. We have come to value our membership here as our “second home”.

WHO AM I?

I am a recently retired attorney. For over forty years my worked encompassed working closely with family-owned businesses and family philanthropic foundations and their boards of directors. My work was highly collaborative, requiring a skill set of deep listening skills so that I could help families, and their boards make sometimes very difficult yet critical decisions that would have impact for years to come. My work also required a deep understanding of taxes, finances and operating budgets.

WHY DO I WANT TO VOLUNTEER MY TIME NOW TO SERVE?

There is a time and place for everything in life and now, with my years of accumulated professional and human experiences I find myself in the position of wanting to help contribute to the future legacy of the Snowmass Club. If I can help the “Club” achieve the same or greater value for other members that my family has been able to receive from our last twenty-five years, then I will have done an admirable job for other members.

MY THOUGHTS: The Focus of the Board and My Role

For many years as owner(s) we have watched the Board make challenging, oftentimes crucial, decisions about balancing the current and future needs of the Club and its resident owners. Thankfully, over the years we all have witnessed continued improvement in the facility on all levels. More challenging decisions remain, and my role would be to work collaboratively with the other Board members to address our long-term needs for our unique facility and its community of owners. It is these next set of important decisions that will help maintain the value of our respective interests and help maintain the Club as the unique and exclusive facility that it is within the Aspen-Snowmass area.
