Work History

Foreman

Templeton Electric
Creston, CA
10.2022 - Current
  • I have a crew of 3 guys and we do a lot of solar with storage installs.
  • 95% of the jobs we do are contracted through Sunrun, so everyday we go load up at Sunrun and I'm in charge of making sure we have all the material to complete the install.
  • I'm in charge of the quality of the entire job whether on the roof or the ground.
  • My communication skills are used everyday with the customers as well as with my boss.
  • If jobs get delayed or we can't finish I leave detailed notes for whoever comes back to finish.
  • I work with Tesla Powerwall 2s, Powerwall 3s, Powerwall Pluses, LG storage and SolarEdge storage systems everyday.
  • I have experience with trouble shooting faulty batteries/systems, as well as experience with creating RMAs.

Lead Solar Installer

Sunrun
San Luis Obispo, CA
04.2021 - 10.2022
  • At Sunrun I learned how to install solar as quick and safe as I could.
  • As a lead installer I had to make sure I had all my hard hat safety zones set up and all my fall protection in correctly as well as photo'd and sent into a chat before I could start the job.
  • I got a lot of my conduit bending skills at sunrun. There were a lot of guys there that would teach me their tips and tricks with bending and I sort of just soaked it all in.
  • I learned about different county and city jurisdictions.
  • I worked a lot of Saturdays because that was the only time I could be a foreman and work with electrical and not be on the roof.
  • I worked with SolarEdge, delta and enphase systems.
  • My crew out of the 7 other crews led the company in safety and in kilowatts installed for months.
  • Learned about different electrical codes and safety.

Solar Installer

Enable Energy
Santa Maria, CA
10.2020 - 04.2021
  • Spent days self tapping so many screws into a metal roof to attach our brackets for racking.
  • It was a 3,000 plus panel install and I was there from start to finish.
  • Worked with s5 and iron ridge racking, with a SolarEdge system.
  • Pulled homeruns, whipped up a ton of mc4 heads, laid hundreds of panels.
  • Ran a little bit of EMT from 3/4 all the way up to 1-1/4.

This was my introduction to solar and the start of my career in this field. Once we finished the job I had the choice to move up north where the company was located or find a job local and that's when I found sunrun.

Fence Installer

Casiday's Coastal Fencing
Santa Maria, CA
03.2019 - 10.2020
  • Pounded stakes, pulled strings and painted out where posts would go.
  • Would break down and stack old fence posts and sections onto our flatbed trailer and haul to the dump.
  • Got necessary material for the installations.
  • Learned how to properly stack and strap material down to a flat bed truck/trailer.
  • Busted up concrete, dug and sweat through summers.
  • Learned how to build processes to work more efficiently throughout the days.
  • Learned how to work with different styles of fences such as, redwood, cedar, vinyl, chain-link and many others.
