Detention Officer for Immigration and Custom Enforcement
Transport alien detainee inmates to detention centers, pick up inmates with detainer's from local jails and transport to our detention center for processing. Guard and search for and weapons and contraband on inmates and in personal property. Perform law enforcement support duties such as taking fingerprint and photographs of alien detainees. Perform clerical duties such as reports and search databases to obtain information in regards to the alien detainee. Assist Deportation Officers with printing required documents for the inmates case. Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions. Assist Deportation Officers with interpretation in Spanish to help alien detainees understand the case against them. Maintain order in the detention facility. Enforce regulations in the custody area. Maintain and sort out inmates inventory upon entering the detention center. Maintain security within the institution and oversee the health and safety of staff and inmates. Report any suspicious inmate conduct to Deportation Officers. Report write and maintain accountability of inmates and property. Communicate effectively orally and in writing; and deal effectively with others in person-to person situations. Check cells and other areas for unsanitary conditions. Assist Deportation Officers with combative and aggressive alien detainees by maintaining control of the situation. Work with Deportation officers as a teamwork to maintain everything in order and keep a safe environment. Inspected jail conditions and took action to rectify problems in order to meet state and federal regulations for health and safety. Regularly conducted security and sanitation checks. Processed inmates by taking photographs and fingerprints. Conducted physical searches of prisoners and premises in search of weapons and contraband. Built solid relationships with staff and residents to keep institution safe and secure.

Maintain and clean city parks and beaches. Work along with the cities facilities and landscape personnel. Disinfect sinks, toilets and floors in the restrooms within the city limits parks. Public relations answering questions and or concerns from the public and address their issues to the best of my knowledge. Work independently with little to no supervision. Report any suspicious activity within in my view or hearing in the parks or city beach to the police department. Report graffiti, broken fixtures and vandalized restrooms or park fixtures to the facility department. Empty all trash receptacles from the public pier also maintain clean from debris. Hold accountability of all my cleaning supplies and inventory used and or needed and report it to my supervisor. Conducted basic repairs to plumbing systems such as leaky faucets and clogged drains. Maintained safety conditions and standards in facility. Used standard housekeeping equipment, tools and supplies to accomplish basic cleaning. Assisted workers by organizing supplies, passing tools and managing equipment.

Open and man all Naval Base Ventura County gates. Monitor , observe and report flow of traffic, visitors and others on Navy property. Foreign National escort upon Naval Base approval. Conduct aggressive patrol activities, Process crime scenes to include securing the scene, conducting area searches for evidence, contraband and weapons, record, photograph, and collect physical evidence. Knowledgeable in processing evidence packaging and placing evidence in an appropriate storage container, Perform policing functions such detaining persons or seizing contraband, property, or assets. Knowledgeable of civil and constitutional rights, Conduct surveillance of persons or places, initiate, plan, and investigations. Perform and supervise Interviews of suspects, witnesses, and others, both informally and formally. Conducts background checks or criminal investigations. Investigate violations of environmental regulations. Search records using electronic databases and or manual file systems. Use cameras, recorders, transmitters or other such electronic devices and equipment to record evidence and document criminal activity. Knowledgeable in reducing all relevant finding of an investigation to a complete, factual, brief, and concise written report. Respond to call for service including fire and security alarms intrusion and duress alarms. Perform the operation of a two way radio to communicate with Dispatch, Watch Commander, and other patrol assets. Knowledgeable in maintaining law and order within the area of assignment, by patrolling in a patrol vehicle, investigating suspicious situations and activity, and taking action as appropriate. Participate in traffic and crowd control activities. Perform detaining activities in cases of crime or misdemeanors personally witnessed. Perform and supervise persons detained to appropriate authorities for booking or formal charging. Perform enforcement duties for the health, safety, privacy, or best interest of the public, clients, staff, or others who may be at risk.
