In Africa I helped many couples with marriage, I learned to love psychology. I started studying a decade ago when i was 16 years old. It’s fueled by my passion for helping people, In Africa many people have lots of grief, so when couples come to me they were broken and it made me sad, so I helped to aim people towards their goals, and ambitions and steer them on the right path away from all their grief. I wish to continue this journey on helping people. I believe my past experiences will help me in this new workforce i’m faced with.
When I was in Africa, I picked up an interest in learning language and reading, I was able to gain high proficiency in 3 language's, (English, Swahili, and french) and able to speak more. I would interpret for tourists and anyone else who came to visit burundi. This is a good skill and will help in the workforce because i’m constantly seeking understanding and fostering communication. I will be able to gain great customer service skills and help customers feel welcome.
I was a marriage consultant, I provided my guidance and counseling to individuals, and married couples. I helped to facilitate communication between the two and solve conflicts. These skills help me because I have great communication skills from the experiences i’ve had with talking to all types of people. I’m able to be understanding and offer good customer support and understanding.
