
My primary interest is in the Generative AI with Diffusion Models project. I am drawn to the way stochastic processes and differential equations can be used to generate data, and I am especially interested in Soumik Pal’s research area of probability. As I am currently taking MATH 394 and plan to take the probability sequence in the near future, I see this project as an opportunity to begin engaging with these ideas early and to connect theoretical mathematics with computational implementation. Given my background in programming through the CSE 12X sequence, I am excited by the prospect of both understanding the theory and contributing to the coding component of the project. This aligns closely with my long-term goal of exploring careers in quantitative finance or AI, where mathematical modeling plays a central role.
I am also interested in the Mathematical Cryptanalysis of the Enigma Machine project as a strong entry point into research. Through MATH 300, I have become familiar with proof-based thinking, and I am eager to apply concepts such as permutations and structural patterns to model real systems. The project’s focus on understanding how mathematical structure influences both the strength and vulnerability of encryption systems is particularly compelling to me.
