Project Description: Provided TM500 support to Tier-1 customers across the EMEA and NA regions

• Assisted customers with MU-MIMO feature testing using Viavi's TM500 and Top Young Phase Shift Matrix.

Project Name: Viavi R&D Transformation

Role: 5G Baseband Engineer

Project Description: This was a strategic efficiency improvement program and one of a kind for Capgemini and Viavi. The objective of this joint initiative was to study, benchmark, optimize and transform the Viavi Wireless R&D’s time to market by being Agile & Lean. The main challenge was to understand the SDLC/PDLC of Viavi’s TM500 product and associated R&D teams to device methods to put Capgemini’s expertise & experience w.r.t DevOps and Process Enhancements to better use in achieving the said goal. By nature, this project demanded,

• Viavi Product & SDLC (Software Dev Life Cycle)
• Understanding Capgemini DevOps methods, Tools overview, and Process Efficiency case studies.
• Embedded/Wireless Software Development knowledge.
• Domain knowledge with respect to Wireless Specifications.
• Basic understanding of Development & Integration related test frameworks.
• Studied & understood the Client project from process perspective to identify the bottle-necks w.r.t their Development and Code merge strategy.
• Understood the DevOps tools, Process recommendations as well as DevOps Maturity Framework of Aricent/Capgemini Process & Quality CoE team.
• Benchmarked Client's existing practices & model, so that the improvement that was targeted and achieved was quantifiable.
• Devised strategy & recommendations to transform Client's Branching & Code Merge strategy to fit into Aricent/Altran proposed DevOps Transformation model in Development & Integration space.
• Led all the discussions internally and with the client identifying the issues and challenges with sanity process, test infrastructure and methodologies and moved towards proposing a new Sanity process and was spearheading the team towards solutioning. A new Sanity process working on 3 dimensions - Testcases, binary and Hardware was proposed and later implemented in customer labs and is still used by all developers using CI/CD framework across multiple geographies.
• HDE improvements – Eliminated dependencies on target hardware by moving functionalities from hardware to software facilitating the Shift-left test strategy thereby reducing the sanity queue time (lesser load on hardware by shifting left) thus resulting in reduced CAPEX and OPEX costs.
• Contributed to technical whitepaper describing the solution provided to the wireless R&D team which included the assessment, strategy, implementation, and targets.

Project Name: Viavi NR 5G (SA & NSA) TM500 Embedded PHY L1 Development and support.

Role: 5G Baseband Engineer

Project Description: The purpose of the project was to support baseband development using C++ and field activities for 5G NR (SA & NSA), 3GPP Release 15, and 16 features on different TM500 product variants. It further expanded to providing pre- and post-sales support to end customers and Viavi's R&D teams for the TM500 product. The scope also included enabling virtualization and cloudification of the TM500 product by porting modules from hardware to software, thereby removing hardware dependencies.

• Supported field sales through product demos and evaluations, developing applications and use cases tailored to regional customer needs.
• Provided technical support to Tier-1 customers across EMEA, US, and APAC during software development, testing, and installation.
• Collaborated with Research & Development and regional teams to resolve technical issues for end customers and facilitated interoperability testing between Viavi Wireless and client equipment.
• Contributed to the feasibility, design, development, and testing of 5G SA and NSA Release 15 and 16 features, including URLLC flexible PDCCH monitoring, mini slots, CSI reporting, gNb restart, and UL MIMO, across various TM500 product variants.
• Implemented features on x86 server-based architecture in baseband and performed unit/component testing, including optimization for faster processing cycles.

Project Description: Development and maintenance of Layer1 software for 3GPP Rel. 13/14 LTE features in TM500 LTE CUE product line

• Engaged in requirements analysis and effort estimation for feasibility studies and feature development.
• Contributed to system-level design, including MTS and L1, for integrating HSTS with COMP.
• Conducted feasibility studies and designed DSP physical layer modules to support LTE in the unlicensed band for SCell, including support for Discover Reference Signal (DRS), frame structure type 3, and partial DL subframes.
