The Salvation Army Disaster Relief

I have had extensive disaster response training and have served throughout the State of Texas and Oklahoma. While responding to hurricanes Katrina and Rita, we were able to transform our Corps Community Center into a shelter for hurricane victims. This shelter included a fully staffed clinic with both doctors and nurses, employment placement, banking representatives, missing persons services and even a hair salon. I responded to a request from the State of Texas to report to Fort Hood, site of a tragic mass shooting incident, to provide pastoral care and counseling to first responders, family members and children affected by this horrific tragedy. I have served in Disaster response several time in the State of Oklahoma due to destructive forces of tornadoes.
