I am a UK trained physician, dual accrediting in nephrology and general internal medicine. As a nephrology fellow at a world leading center in Cambridge UK, I have acquired a wealth of experience in management of vasculitis, chronic kidney disease and renal transplant medicine. I lead a group of junior doctors in looking after patients in a multitude of clinical settings, from the emergency room, wards, dialysis units to outpatient settings. I work extremely well under stress, and have managed a wide range of acute medical conditions, from being the on-call fellow in thrombolysis unit in London to being the sole medical doctor on-call for medical emergencies in large hospital settings. I thrive working as part of a team, communicating effectively to deliver excellent clinical care.
I have tremendous interests in clinical research and have actively pursued multiple clinical projects and have completed them to the highest possible standards. During my resident training, I was part of a pilot scheme introducing a preoperative anaemia clinic in patients undergoing major cardiothoracic surgery in Papworth hospital, UK. My data analysis over an eight-month period demonstrated significant improvement in blood product use and duration of hospital admission. I submitted my work to the European Haematology Association, Denmark and was selected for an oral presentation and was awarded the top abstract prize and a travel grant. In addition, I led a major quality improvement project that won the East of England top prize in 2016. I conducted an intervention on improving the quality of discharge summaries of bone marrow transplant patients. This work was also selected nationally to be presented at the Royal College of Physicians showcase event in London.
