Commercial Harvest Diver for sea urchins/sea cucumbers for 6 years. Diving the Channel Islands on boats I built at home or as a walk-on diver on other commercial fishing vessels. Harvest diving is an extremely rewarding career as there is no by-catch and every urchin/cucumber is hand picked and sold to markets by myself personally.

• Zephyr Marine Inc owns an operates purpose built Research Vessels for private and government clients.
• Since May of 2007 I have operated research Vessels for private and government clients in every state on the US coast as well and other foreign countries. I have 18+ years experience managing logistics and day to day operations of research vessels spread throughout the country. I also run my own private vessel repair and boatbuilding business on the side.
• ZMI provides custom vessels, operators and logistics solutions for hydrographic, scientific, and commercial interests operating in maritime environments. At ZMI we provide our clients and passengers with safe and effective conveyance. We specialize in operating safely in remote areas where overcoming logistics challenges is necessary for creating successful results. We bring experience, common sense, integrity and adaptability to the planning and execution of all projects.

• At SoCal I worked as an Unlicensed Engineer and Captain in training aboard the Crew / Supply Vesse Alan T as well as other vessels in the fleet. On the Alan T our day to day operations consisted of moving crew from platform to platform and cargo handling in the Dos Cuadros Field off the California coast. All maintenance aboard this vessel was performed by the crew and I. As engineer aboard the Alan T, all engine room maintenance and fuel logs were my responsibility. All maintenance on board was done at sea either at anchor or while running.

• At Truth Aquatics I worked as a Mate aboard the recreational dive vessel Conception directing crewmembers and doing general maintenance on engines, keeping engine room logs, dealing with minor electrical problems, painting, fiberglass, and woodwork. On trips my job consists of checking all paperwork for passengers, vessel safety orientations, safety diving, filling tanks, engine room checks, wheel watches, accounting for all passengers on board, and safe navigation to California’s Channel Islands.

• At Metson Marine I worked as an ordinary seaman on the Spill Response Vessel ‘Mr. Clean 3’. My daily duties consisted of running oil stop equipment, general maintenance on all deck equipment as well as wheel watches daily. I also worked as an ordinary seaman on the ‘Self Defense Test Ship’.
