Experienced Mechanical Insulator with over 4years of experience in commercial Insulation .
installs, repairs, and removes insulating materials on HVAC systems, piping, and equipment across the Capitol campus. Key duties include hazardous materials abatement (asbestos and lead), applying various insulation types to irregular shapes, and ensuring OSHA and EPA compliance.
• Insulation & Installation: Measure, cut, and fit materials (e.g., fiberglass, calcium silicate) around straight runs, curves, and irregular surfaces like turbines, air ducts, and boilers.
• Hazardous Materials: Plan and safely execute abatement procedures. This involves building containment barriers, utilizing negative air machines, and complying with EPA, OSHA, and NIOSH regulations.
• System Maintenance: Maintain, repair, and upgrade existing insulation to limit heat transference, reduce condensation, dampen sound, and withstand extreme temperature variations.
In addition to my hands-on insulation experience, I perform insulation estimates and material takeoffs to ensure each project has the proper materials and quantities needed to complete the job efficiently. I currently supervise a crew of four insulators, assigning daily tasks, monitoring productivity, and making sure all work is completed safely, effectively, and efficiently according to company standards and direct instructions from upper management. I take pride in maintaining strong communication with my crew and ensuring projects are completed on time with quality workmanship.”
