State of Florida licensed Paramedic, I hold an A.S. in Emergency Medical Services. I also hold a C.N.A. certificate in the state of Florida as well as various FEMA and DOH certifications. I have 15 years’ experience in the administrative/public service/healthcare fields and am very passionate about any work I do. I hold many advanced life support certifications and am extremely knowledgeable in many areas and operations of business and public service. A great deal of my time in healthcare has been spent performing management duties and overseeing the operations of reception and clerical duties including managing records, managing budgets, reporting, maintaining documentation and files, operating multi-line telephone systems, ordering supplies, medical billing and coding, ensuring daily operations run smoothly, program development and oversight, and legal compliance. Coordinator- Grants & Emergency Management

  • I work with the County Administrator, Board of County Commissioners and all County departments to develop Emergency Preparedness plans, After Action plans, sheltering plans and Local Mitigation Strategies
  • I assist with employee training, community CPR and outreach, and other county wide initiatives
  • I assist the EM Director in all daily functions including budgeting, purchasing and contract development
  • In addition, I work directly with the County Administrator functioning as the Grants Coordinator
  • I am currently responsible for coordinating the acquisition, reporting and oversight of approximately $27M in grant funded projects throughout the county
  • I work with other staff members, contractors and partnering agencies to accomplish this
  • I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to start the Gilchrist County Fire Rescue Mobile Integrated Health/ Community Paramedicine program through the state of Florida HELPS grant
  • I continue oversight of that program and continue to look for ways to expand and grow it
  • MIH/CP and access to care has become my passion
  • I am currently the interim appointed Code Enforcement Officer for Gilchrist County
  • This requires staff management, budget development and oversight, complaint response, hearing preparations, taking non-compliant cases to a Magistrate hearing, intense legal knowledge, and the ability to navigate multiple problems and complainants
  • I continue to respond to administrative level emergencies in the county as a Paramedic and EM Coordinator as well as perform MIH/CP visits and assist with special programs.

  • My knowledge and understanding of anatomy, medical terminology, drug interactions, signs and symptoms of certain medical conditions and the ability to respond to them are crucial in my role
  • I often am responsible for triaging patients and prioritizing which patient has the more severe condition

  • I also take radio report from incoming EMS and assign rooms as necessary

  • As well as assisting in the procedure suite I would also receive and prepare patients including a significant amount of filing, paperwork and documentation as well as verifying all pertinent information was correct

  • I worked as a 911 Paramedic providing care to the citizens of Columbia County through Century EMS who obtained the county’s 911 contract in October of 2016
