Ryan Gammons

Dynamic 6th grade educator bringing a twelve-year teaching background, a seven year background in coaching robotics at the elementary and middle school levels, and a 4 year background in being a union association representative. Proficient in leading multiple types of classrooms, lesson planning, behavior management, and communicating with parents and administrators about curriculum, student growth, and other successes. Successful at teacher recruitment into our teaching union, and as part of the committee for change. Successful at collaborating with teachers, administrative leaders and support specialists to meet individual student needs. Committed to building relationships with students so that they may become the best versions of themselves.

• Helped to increase member involvement and enrollment in DEA.
• Helped a group of 9 teachers throughout the district get paid back for a contract issue.
• Helped to design, develop and implement a scope and sequence and curriculum map for sixth grade reading as a member of the district ELA committee.
• Helped to design, develop and implement a curriculum guide for both math and ELA as a fourth grade teacher.
• Helped to design curriculum maps and develop/vet resources and questions for assessments for fourth grade in Warren Township.
• Helped Grassy Creek Elementary obtain an 'A' rating for four years in a row based on student academic success.
• Helped lead students in fourth grade to consistently have some of the highest test scores in the district.
• Participated in technology training courses (Google) and trained colleagues in new technology concepts and practices applicable for the classroom as a Warren eMentor.
• Member of the Personalized Learning team at Grassy Creek Elementary, helping to provide Professional Development and brainstorm ideas for jump-starting personalized learning school-wide.
• Helped build and lead a highly successful ground-up robotics program at Grassy Creek Elementary (2015-2017) and Brookview Elementary (2017-2019)
• Helped coach 15 different robotics teams to the Indiana State VEX-IQ Robotics Tournament (2016 - 2020), with one team winning the State Championship, and 5 other teams winning awards.
• Helped coach 10 different robotics teams to the VEX IQ World Championships (2016-2020), with multiple teams winning awards and placing well in their divisions.
