Worked in the transmission dept. for my first 3 years and held positions of Lineman, Foreman and General Foreman. Did all aspects of transmission construction and maintenance including hot sticking up to 230KV. Currently am General Foreman at the Fargo service center for distribution ops. I have held other positions of lineman and foreman. Main voltage in our area is 13.8/23.9 but also have some 12 and 4KV. We do all aspects of distribution including construction and maintenance of overhead and underground systems. Rubber glove and hot sticking methods are used for overhead live work.
As a journeyman lineman out of 769 I worked in all aspects of linework including transmission, overhead distribution, underground distribution and substation. I worked for multiple contractors in multiple states and traveled to 5 major storms as a journeyman lineman.
As an apprentice lineman at 769 through Southwest Line Constructors I was taught under immediate journeyman supervision the proper and safe ways to do linework.
