At JRB service i started out as an apprentice with no knowledge what so ever of the glazing industry. After a couple years working side by side with an experienced foreman i gained the knowledge i needed to become a lead. I was already driven by safety, quality, efficiency, professionalism and customer service. So with the newly found knowledge in glazing i was running some of the larger jobs. Some examples are:
- CU Boulder- Fleming building. This was a renovation with Adolph Peterson. Although JRB was not directly responsible for the demolition part of the job, i did have the opportunity to see some of the procedures.
- ANB Bank- Cheyenne WY. Working for the customer directly, on this job we replaced all the glass and the exterior metal panels. The glass was replaced from the interior, the building was occupied and operational which meant working closely with the occupants on scheduling and planning.
- Presbyterian St. Lukes- Denver CO. This was another full renovation, the GC was Layton construction. Again, JRB was not responsible for the demo part of the job but i had the opportunity to see first hand the steps needed for containment in a fully operational hospital. Our scope was installation of new storefront in all exterior openings and interior storefront as well.
- Randolph center- Boulder CO. This was an interesting and challenging job. It was built in 1976 using a pressure fit storefront system which started to fail. We were hired directly by the customer to retrofit a new exterior system and glass. In order to complete this we had to basically cut the entire face of the building off using skill saws and grinders, then reinstall new components and glass. This building was occupied and a strict schedule was needed to ensure tenants were affected little as possible.
- Apple campus- Austin TX. This was a newly built complex that a car drove through the lower level of the building, in one end and out of the other, damaging the curtain wall glazing system. On this job we were hired to demo the damaged areas and replace with new and finish with it looking like nothing ever happened.
In addition to the jobs listed above i have ran many other successful smaller jobs over the years with JRB, many of which had small demolition details involved.
If hired by Fiore and Sons i would bring a good attitude, willingness to learn, good work ethic and hopes to grow within the company.
