Being a deckhand, I've done ship assist work, moving oil barges, as well as lumber barges. Worked on all the different types of tugs, from those that make up River style. To tugs that hip up with three-line makeups. With that on the engineering side of things, I've been working as a senior deckhand consistently during my work weeks. This comes with a lot of responsibility, not only in the engine room, but also in making sure the junior deck crew are doing their duties.

I have done special projects, pushing windmills up to Lewiston, Idaho, and motor generators to Boardman. Done dredge work in Astoria. I've done special dry dock work at T6.

Keeping up on boat work: Cleaning, splicing "All Different types of line". Oil changes on mains and generators.

Being a deckhand for four years now, I've learned about how important it is to give good directions to the captain when moving barges. I've tried passing on this information to other upcoming deckhand engineers.

Practiced maneuvering boats, getting the basics of controlling the boat. Understanding how weather and currents affect the boats driving.

• Operated deck equipment to assist in mooring and unmooring vessels.
• Assisted in cargo handling and securing during loading and unloading.
• Monitored weather conditions to ensure safe navigation procedures.
• Collaborated with crew members to perform safety drills and emergency procedures.
• Moved high-end houseboats up and down the river. Pushed flat-deck barges alongside ships to offload cargo onto the barge.
• Family-owned tugboat. Owned by Clark Caffall. Side work when things gets slow at a real full-time job at Foss Maritime.

• Operated machinery safely and efficiently in a slow-paced production environment.
• Monitored equipment performance and reported any issues to the maintenance team.
• Followed written instructions for equipment setup and operation during shifts.
• Used hand trucks and forklifts to unload, load and transport items.
• Moved small flexi-float barges for Dry-Dock Master Ken Swingle. also moved 1200+ foot Oil booms to contemning ships from potential oil spills.

• Conducted thorough cleaning of facilities to maintain environmental standards.
• Operated specialized cleaning equipment for effective waste management.
• Call-out work cleaning diesel oil tanks, garbage barges, and sewage waste holding tanks.
• I worked around high-pressure washers, as well as high-power vacuum trucks.
• Painted large scales of barges/Tugboats hulls.
