To seek and maintain full-time position that offers professional challenges utilizing interpersonal skills, excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
Tig/ mig welding food grade stainless steel components ranging from 24g up to 1" thick, as well as some carbon steel parts. Approximately a 90/10 split, with welds performed in a variety of positions such as outside corner joints, socket, fillet, butt welds, open root gaps up to 3/8" using a weave or stringers depending on the joint and fit up.
Fabrication, fitting, and welding of stainless food grade equipment such as conveyors, smokehouses, ductwork, and stairs/ platforms. Very precise tolerances were required. 1/32" and +/- .5* was standard. Often .005" for certain customers products. Calipers, micrometers, digital angle finders were used on the majority of my work. Tig welding in various positions and material thicknesses using foot pedals, thumb slide, and other tig torch amperage controllers using my right or left hand to weld. Stringers(dabbing and flooding),freehand weaves, and walking the cup techniques were required. Assembled conveyor motors and belts and performed test runs before partially disassembly for shipping.
Pipe fitting/Tig welding on stainless steel from 2"-12" in shop and on site. Installing conveyors, structural steel and stacks. Rigging and operating equipment, structural smaw welding. Stainless/ carbon mig welding in the shop. Responsible for fabrication, layout, fit, and welding of staircases/handrails, structural floor plans, frames and supports for industrial equipment.
Mig and tig weld various stainless steel alloys between 16-24g in thickness. Pipe diameters of 4" to 36". Fabrication, preparation, and fit of reducers, 45*s, 90*s, double bevel, tees, butt joints, socket welds among other pipe configurations. Properly fit up with precise tolerance and perform androgynous welds/tacks. Final welds varied between stringers, walking the cup weaves, and mig for less crucial weldments when called for.
Responsibilities Climbed to heights greater than 60ft while maintaining 100% tie off. Moved scaffolding among trusses as needed. Took measurements to fabricate and fit structural beams. Performed structural welds on I beams in all positions to reinforce the roof using smaw process. Accomplishments 100% pass rate on all inspected welds. I was the only crew member to perform the 3 main jobs of welding, moving scaffolding, and hanging aluminum sheeting on this project. Skills Used Drive fork truck, operate JLG man lift, and scissor lift. performed welds in the 3&4g positions which I am certified for up to 6g on carbon pipe
Created molds to reproduce intricate castings for statues, ornamental work, and frames for large molds. Utilized GTAW, GMAW, and SMAW along with hand tools and plasma torch to fabricate, assemble or repair cast bronze, aluminum, iron and steel Tig welding/stick welding/mig welding. Troubleshot equipment breakdowns and performed preventive maintenance. Inspected and maintained equipment to keep items in top working condition.
