I am a motivated and Critically thinking Philosophy Major at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. I want to be able to experience diverse fields of work and enjoy new opportunities in life. I strive to use my work ethic to not only earn a wage for myself but to make a real change in my field of work.
My job at Driftless Region Vector Control was to look out the passenger side window in search of un-rimmed tires or other objects that can hold water in people's yards that may be potential places for disease-carrying mosquitoes to breed. When we would find these locations with objects containing water I would type the address, date, description, and if there were any larvae found in the tire/object. In addition to all of this I would map the streets carefully as we drove through cities and towns that contracted us to survey their communities.
My main job in the kitchen was to wash dishes, but I had many other duties and responsibilities such as refilling ice in the bowling alley and bar, sorting raw chicken to be cooked, peeling the skin off of fish fillets, stocking the bar fridges, retrieving things for cooks, along with an assortment of other things.
