My journey started with a moderate sized Monstera Deliciosa from Trader Joe's at the beginning of July, an event that served as the gateway to a burgeoning passion. Over the subsequent three months, my plant collection has passed a little over 40, ranging from pitcher plants, succulents, cacti, philodendrons, alocasias and more!
I am committed to the welfare of my plants, underscored by the rigorous regimen of research, primarily conducted through Reddit, that follows as soon as I bring one home. The platform has proven invaluable for its wealth of informative insights and personal anecdotes from fellow enthusiasts. My vigilance in monitoring the well-being of my plants has extended to addressing any issues promptly and judiciously. It might be a little early to say, but they have all been thriving and none have died on me. A testament to my passion and care would be the corms I have sprouting right now in their humidity domes.
I have had experiences with pests, more specifically spider mites. My golden pothos had a spider mite and aphid situation over the summer. Fortunately, I caught it relatively early and took the proper steps in remediating the situation. Consequently, I have acquired an army of preventatives and treatments.
This love for plants is what makes having a job in a plant store the dream, especially if they have a living wall.
