  • Mechanical diagnosis of vehicles brought in with any kind of issues. Engine, Ignition, Cooling, HVAC, wiring, suspension, brakes, etc. Make a detailed list of causes found and itemized list of any parts necessary for repair. I would also, more often than not, source the parts for order from a variety of suppliers that we used.
  • Capability of organized and detailed disassembly of engines. Shy of the machine work possibly needed, I can handle the preparation of block and all parts for re-assembly. Which includes the checking of all clearances and double checking all parts to be installed.
  • Capability of completely disassembling manual transmissions, transfer cases, and differentials for repair and rebuild. Followed by complete reassembly and operational testing.
  • Disc and Drum brake diagnosis and repair. Which could range anywhere from a simple disc brake pad, rotor, and hardware replacement, all the way to a complete tear down with wheel cylinder rebuilds and turning of drums or rotors on the brake lathe. This was especially common on pre-war vehicles (Duesenbergs, Bugattis, Auburns, etc) where sourcing new brake parts was impossible.
  • Complete brake and fuel line bending and flaring. Either to factory specification or in such a manner to make the install look much cleaner than it did originally. Customer or build specific.
  • Wiring diagnosis, repair, and fabrication. This could range from finding lights or relays that no longer function, all the way to custom fabricating complete wire harnesses from scratch out of spools of wire and a fuse box.
  • Diagnosing, repairing, or updating Ignition systems. This could be diagnosing a no spark condition and tracing it back to a bad ignition module or maybe a bad/miss adjusted set of breaker points. Removing, completely rebuilding, and re installing distributors on older vehicles. Also, updating previous points style ignition systems to electronic, Installing and tuning new ignition to run flawlessly.
  • Disassembly of vehicles from bumper to bumper in an extremely organized manner. Bag and label hardware and parts for easy reassembly. It could be months or years before some of these vehicles would be reassembled.
  • Servicing R134a Air Conditioning systems ranging from leak testing existing system for repair, all the way to designing and executing a plan for adding an entire AC system to a vehicle that never had one.
  • Carburetor to Fuel Injection conversions. This would usually entail removing fuel tank for installation of an in tank EFI Pump.
  • Because of experience from my previous employment, I would commonly fabricate metal parts needed for whichever job i was actively working on. Example would be brackets out of sheet metal or a brass bushing for Transmission linkage. I can safely run a lathe and/or mill for parts where precision is key.
  • I am an above average steel MIG Welder, with prior certification from I-Car for structural welding.

Mechanic/Auto Body Repair Technician

Walker Tech Auto Body
02.2012 - 09.2022
  • Responsible for any and all repairs mechanically as a result of a collision for all jobs in shop. This could range anywhere from repairing damaged wiring/electrical systems all the way to full frame replacement. (Full frame vehicles: Pickups/Suvs)
  • More Examples: Complete suspension overhauls, Cooling system component replacement, A/C Component replacement, Leak testing/Recharging of the system, Airbag system diagnostics, Interior upholstery repair (Airbag Damage) and seat frame replacement. Engine replacement as a result of hard front end collisions when financially viable for the insurance company.
  • Frame/Structural repair technician: This involved the full process of big hit collison damage repair. Starting with mounting and measuring on the Frame machine, completing the necessary pulls to straighten any damage. Replacing weld on body panels, and all finish work to prepare for paint.
  • I-Car certification for Structural welding completed.
