Room Builder and Analyzer

  • Create Hospital rooms from floor plans and add props into the environment to improve immersiveness.
  • Add interactable props to the environment that the player can interact with; props include moving bedside tables, patient bedside stands, IV poles, doors with handles,Sliding Barn doors.
  • Create Room models in Blender and import them into Unity while maintaining scale to ensure accuracy during Human Subject trials.
  • Create Data Collection Algorithms to collect positional and orientation data on the Head,Hands, Feet, and Hip to estimate position of the patient in the space and compare accuracy with traditional Motion capture systems.
  • Create collision and proximity detection and reporting algorithms to warn the patients of potential collisions with objects in the virtual space like a bed wheel or IV pole. Collect positional data of the collisions and estimate points of concern in the Virtual Space.

Virtual Ergonomics Tutor

  • Create and Modify an Inverse Kinematics model to simulate accurate Joint Movement in the body by utilizing positional and orientation information obtained from the HMD and HTC Vive Trackers.
  • Conduct subject studies to estimate the accuracy of the system when compared to Traditional Motion Capture System like OptiTrack.
  • Create a custom Humanoid model with motion capture markers attached in Virtual space, mapped to a human subject and collecting position data of the markers in the Virtual Space. Comparing the obtained data with positional data obtained from Motion Capture to analyze errors in Joint Angles from the two systems.
