Sachi Togashi

I have plenty of experience as a summer camp counselor since I have volunteered there as a middle schooler and have also worked there previously. As a summer camp counselor, I know that I need to be compassionate and empathetic but also know how to problem solve if there are problems. Along with that, I know to make sure that all kids in the camp are taken care of. In one of my previous years of working as a summer camp counselor, some of my colleagues stayed on their phones and did not create relationships with the children as they stayed in a corner on their phones. I know that as a camp counselor, I must be a great role model and interact with the children to create good relationships and promote a productive environment.

I play tennis 3 days a week in the Tournament Academy (TA) program at the Greater Midland Tennis Center. In the spring, I play on the girl's tennis team for my high school, Dow High, and have reached semi-finals in States. My experience with tennis will help me to lead tennis activities at the summer camp but also to be able to work with many different levels of skills and development of the children in the camp.
