EXPERIENCED DESIGNER, MASTER’S CANDIDATE
Key point of fittings with human model for ladies pattern adjustment procedure as per fitting Groupe Carrefour-Global Sourcing-2015
My thesis collection is inspired by the traditional Banarasi saree, a symbol of prosperity in South Asia dating back to the 14th-century Mughal era. Originally from India and later embraced in Bangladesh, Banarasi is known for its handloom craftsmanship, similar to jacquard weaving, using dyed silk and metallic threads. The collection upcycles old sarees—specifically from my mother—preserving cultural heritage while transforming them into modern couture. Featuring colorful exotic feathers, the designs blend tradition with contemporary aesthetics, targeting a wide age range (15–65) for elegant evening wear. The collection is also deeply sustainable due to the fabric’s versatility and cultural significance.
I also have been accepted for Luxury and Sustainability Conference in Barcelona, Spain (Nov. 6-7) & ITAA in St. Louis, MO (Nov. 18 – 22) for mentioned collection this year
