• Proficiently conduct age-appropriate venipuncture procedures to draw blood samples from pediatric patients, across a broad age spectrum from neonates to adolescents, ensuring compassionate care for each developmental stage, while utilizing age-appropriate techniques, needles, and equipment
• Collect blood cultures for bacterial or viral testing, paying meticulous attention to sterile techniques and proper specimen labeling
• Obtain blood from patients through venipuncture, capillary finger stick, or heel stick, adhering to age-specific guidelines for sample analysis

• Verify patient identity through the hospital registration system, ensure the correctness of account numbers, and confirm the accuracy of test orders, promptly addressing data entry errors and resolving questionable orders
• Maintain effective communication with the healthcare team, including nurses, physicians, and laboratory staff, to ensure the precise and timely collection of samples
• Collaborate with Child Life specialists to enhance the experience of pediatric patients
• Respond promptly to patient and customer needs, including the timely handling of pneumatic tubes, customer deliveries, patient wait times, and phone calls
• Accurately transcribe orders for testing
• Proficient in responding to vasovagal syncope to ensure patient safety

• Extensive experience across various healthcare settings, including hospitals, acute care facilities, rehabilitation centers, assisted living communities, nursing homes, and memory care units
• Proficient in assessing vital signs and demonstrating strong clinical skills
• Provide compassionate care and comfort to patients
• Assist patients with personal hygiene, dressing, and administering medications
• Offer support in transportation and transferring patients in and out of beds
• Proficient in aiding patients with physical therapy, injections, and managing feeding tubes
• Skilled in Catheter Care and Perineal Care

• Proficiently obtain blood samples for medical testing and transfusion, employing venipuncture or capillary puncture techniques with precision
• Skillfully analyze blood specimens, utilizing appropriate testing equipment when required to ensure accurate diagnostic results
• Strictly adhere to infection-control and safety protocols during the execution of daily phlebotomy tasks to maintain a secure and sterile healthcare environment
• Prepare blood-collecting equipment, execute blood draws with precision, and ensure the safe storage and transportation of collected samples
• Draw blood from patients to support a wide range of laboratory procedures, meticulously processing, centrifuging, and packaging specimens for analysis
• Accurately label vials, matching blood specimens to the corresponding patients, while ensuring the utmost precision in sample identification
• Demonstrate expertise in performing challenging blood draws, ranging from shoulder down to wrist, and when authorized by physicians, collect specimens from foot/ankle punctures
• Possess extensive experience in conducting specialized tests, including Quantiferon, VBG (Venous Blood Gas), Transplant workups, and a variety of special tests such as VIP/GLU, TEG panels, and research laboratory work
• Acquired valuable experience conducting in-patient blood draws across a diverse range of healthcare units, including but not limited to Oncology, BMT Oncology, Transplant, Neurosciences, Pulmonary, Rehabilitation, Orthopedics, MSPC (Medical-Surgical Progressive Care), Surgical Specialties, Medical Specialties, Medical Health Services, Cardiology Medicine, ACE (Acute Care for the Elderly), and Med/Onc/Gynecology
