For a full school year I have worked alongside my mentor teacher to learn about current Math standards and the best practices. We co-taught our classes throughout the day which gave me best experience imaginable because there was no higherarcy in the classroom. I strongly believe that this experience helped me discover many forms of differentiation. We facilitated small group activities and one-on-one instruction to meet individual student needs and cultivated positive relationships with administration, teaching staff, and the students. We promoted a positive learning environment by establishing clear expectations, enforcing classroom rules, and fostering open communication.
