Being a volunteer physician shadowing in Tremaine medical Clinic, my tasks were:

• Taking histories, doing chart reviewing and presenting cases to Dr. Umer.

• Assisting in patient care, observing various procedures.

• Participating in the Annual Clinic event, providing checkups and treatments during interactive play to alleviate fears and misunderstandings about a hospital experience in a fun, empowering environment.

• Providing care to patients, giving water and food, and providing support to ambulate.

• Guiding families to the patient room and providing information about nearby facilities for food.

• Learned the importance of self-reflection and a better version of myself.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Fill up Doctor's schedule.

• Take patients’ checking specimens: urine test, pregnancy test, assisting with immunization.

• Booking of appointments.

• Scheduling-minimizing patient waiting/maximize physician’s schedule.

• Charting/ Checking Health Cards/Demographics.

• Book specialist appointments.

• Arrange other staff if unable to attend scheduled work.

MINOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ordering supplies.

• Maintain a professional image.

• Communicating with pharmacies, consultants.

• Ensure examination rooms are immaculate.

• Patient encounter/preparing patients for the exam.

I worked as a clinical extern under the supervision of experienced physicians. My tasks were:

• Taking histories, doing physical examinations, taking vitals and entering data in EMRs.
• Preparing notes during patient visits, presenting my case to the Doctor, and discussing SOAP.
• Learning EKGs -Participating in educational sessions.
• Evaluating and establishing management strategies for diabetes, hypertension, and addictive patients.

Being a Medical officer in the OB/GYN Department my tasks were:

• Taking histories, vaginal examination and instrumental vaginal deliveries.
• Provide fast and accurate patient case diagnosis.
• Counsel patients on birth control methods and ensured that my patients had well educated on specific treatments and care plans.
• Carry out lab results and apply findings to the treatment plan. Explain test results to my patients and help them take proper decisions regarding their medical issues.
• Analyzed patients' medical histories, medical allergies, family history, physical status as well as investigations results to determine the best procedure.
• Remained focused and clear-headed in high pressure crises situation.

I rotated in tertiary care hospitals for a house job. Jinnah Hospital is affiliated with Allama Iqbal Medical College, Children's Hospital known facilities, and Allied Hospital affiliated with Faisalabad Medical University. My tasks included:

• Taking histories and performing examinations in inpatient and outpatient departments, counseling on medication, updating records, presenting in rounds, and attending education conferences.
• Performing sampling, catheterization, NG tube, orotracheal lumbar puncture, ascitic tap, and maintaining IV line.
• Performing needle thoracotomy and peritoneal dialysis under supervision.
• Doing CPR, NVD and episiotomies.
• Assisting in C-sections.
