Summary

My position at Life Pittsburgh as the Health Plan Specialist I am responsible for maintaining all medical Authorizations for our Participants and also the claims that were submitted for those services. I enter New Participants enrollment in our main system called Plexis and make sure to keep that information up to date if any changes. At end of month I need to compile their enrollment or Dis-enrollment into individual forms to submit to the state for review and submit all center enrollment count monthly. I verify that claims were submitted correctly by corresponding with different departments and checking the EHR for appointments and service orders. I enter all Durable Medical Equipment authorizations including clinical and wound care supplies, food supplements, and Incontinence supplies. I also entered authorizations for Oxygen rentals, Lifeline and Med box dispensers , Chemo and Dialysis treatments, Physician visits for nursing and office appointments. Also,Hospital and Nursing Home admissions and discharges, Housekeeping Services (Laundry, pest control) Transportation emergent and non emergent authorizations, for over 500 participants. I have also been responsible for checking claim statuses and resolving any pending claims, matching the claims with the authorizations and making sure they had the correct coding in the claim, denying them if they were incorrect, or denying them for timely filing and adjudicating the correct ones. I also enter claims for housekeeping and for participant Durable Medical Supplies. I have to check with providers for outstanding claims, and close any "extra authorization's in Plexis. I verify patient eligibilty with providers who call and provide Insurance and billing information. I have previous call center experience from previous roles with Highmark Wholecare CVS and Sears Holding. Types 32wpm, excellent oral and written communication skills. Well-equipped in Microsoft Office.
