I am an accomplished Welder with a background in the nuclear, defense, energy, and hazardous waste industries. I am a very well versed welder with the ability to weld almost any metal with any process in any position. I am currently looking to take a break from welding and pursue something new to learn more and see what else is out there.
My responsibility was to fit and weld pipe from as small as 1/2 inch diameter to 24 inch diameter. Installed and maintained industrial piping fittings, valves, flanges and clamps to complete systems setup. Fabricated pipe sections and components to specification using cutting, threading and welding equipment. Installed new systems and connected piping to existing components by welding, bolting and threading. Read and interpreted blueprints, diagrams and other technical drawings to determine best installation methods. Inspected and tested existing pipe systems to identify system defects and malfunctions. Experience welding multiple types of metal like stainless steel, carbon steel, inconel, alloy 20, and dissimilar metals. Experience in stick welding in various positions and on carbon steel and stainless steel. Very proficient in tig welding I have the ability to pass RT, UT, PT and Visual Inspection. Knowledge in filler rods and stick rods to use depending on the application and understand the characteristics of the effect welding has on metal. Experience in welding in the field and followed safe work practices, which included fall protection and personal protective equipment. Routinely weld in pipe racks, scaffolding, and suspended in the air up to 100 feet using multiple welding processes including GTAW, SMAW, and GMAW.
I read blueprints in order to layout dimensions and weld products to nuclear standards within very low tolerances. Weld stainless steel and carbon steel using multiple welding processes in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions and also in confined spaces when necessary. Minimize warping using good fitting, proper weld sequence, and correct bracing techniques. Identify problems when they arise and resolve them in time to meet deadlines. Use power tools, hand tools and pneumatic tools in order to prepare metal for welding and also different types of machinery to cut and sheer metal to specified dimensions. Use overhead cranes and forklifts to move materials where needed and track materials using heat numbers for product traceability. Help fabricate various types of nuclear waste disposal systems such as containers, piping systems, vessels, and various other structures to high standards in order to be tested using X-ray, Ultrasound, Magnet Particle, and Dye Penetrant. Inspect my own welds and check critical measurements to find any defects and repair them to meet quality guidelines and specifications. When not welding I clean up the shop and organize tools and workstations to make work easier in the future.
Stocked shelves and racks with merchandise and also cleaned up any cluttered areas and messes. Cashiered when I was needed and worked as loss prevention when needed. Marked down prices and tagged merchandise with missing tags. Organize the store to make it a more pleasurable experience for shoppers. I also was awarded employee of the month within my first 3 months of working there.
