I have babysat since I was 14 years old. I love playing sports with kids, reading to them, and having a good time.
As a "Buddy", I provide Operation Mend warriors and their family members a distraction from the hard work of healing by sharing meals with them and offering friendship during their treatment. The Buddy program gives post 9/11 veterans a safe space to learn, to fight off social isolation, and heal from the physical and psychological wounds of war.
I tutored 8th grade students from underprivileged schools in Los Angeles for free to help them study for the HSPT test. I worked with them for 8 hours at a time, working with them on verbal skills, quantitative skills, reading comprehension, mathematics, and language.
At the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank I specialized in packing and loading various foods. We worked with farmers, manufacturers, retailers and government agencies to save unwanted food from landfills and move donated grocery items to where it was needed most.
At Westside Neighborhood School as an 8th grader I worked with preschoolers on their motor skills, read to them, helped teachers with their lesson plans, played with the kids, and helped resolve conflicts.
