Geologist-in-Training with over 3 years of geotechnical consulting experience leading geohazard assessment, geohazard mitigation construction oversight, geotechnical subsurface investigations, and environmental sampling for oil/gas pipeline and industrial clients. Experience includes desktop and field-based geohazard characterization, aerial geohazard reconnaissance, subsurface exploration, remote monitoring system installation, and construction oversight.
Geohazard Assessment & Mapping
Performed GIS-based mapping using LiDAR and aerial imagery across pipeline corridors; reviewed over 2,000 miles of data and identified 150+ potential geohazards.
Conducted aerial reconnaissance surveys via helicopter(>1,200 miles of Right-Of-Way) with GPS-tagged data collection.
Led field mapping campaigns across the United States, characterizing and assessing the threat levels of over 450 geohazards.
Field Investigations
Conducted subsurface investigations including SPT borings, rock coring, and test pits totaling over 5,000 feet of logged boreholes and excavations.
Supported grouting design and trained field staff for the engineered remediation of the Red Bluff Dam in Orla, TX.
Instrumentation & Monitoring
Led installation of strain gauges, piezometers, shape array accelerometer systems, and remote monitoring systems across the eastern United States.
Completed deployments of over 20 remote monitoring systems utilized by clients to monitor their assets in real-time using the aforementioned instruments.
Geohazard Mitigation & Construction Oversight
Represented the Engineer-of-Record and oversaw construction of soil nail systems, shear keys, drainage systems, pipeline stress-relief excavations, and more slope-stability improvements.
