Summary

I am a certified, Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician. I currently have 12 years of experience in Fire and EMS. In 2014 I graduated from the Santa Fe County Volunteer Fire Academy. During the academy, I received certifications in Firefighting, Hazardous Materials: Awareness & Operations, and Wildland. During the Fall of 2015, I attended and completed the EMT Basic course at Santa Fe Community College where I obtained the knowledge and skills required to sit for National Registry testing. After successfully completing the cognitive and psychomotor test, I obtained both my national and state EMT-Basic license. In Spring 2019 I attended the Advanced EMT course at Santa Fe Community College where I graduated with my Emergency Medical Technician - Intermediate Certificate. My EMT courses consisted of education in ems operations, medical and trauma emergencies, pharmacology, and special population considerations including pediatric emergencies. While attending my emergency medical classes I did clinical shifts on the ambulances with Santa Fe County Fire Department, Santa Fe City Fire Department, and Superior Ambulance in Las Vegas, NM where I did emergency patient care, medication administration, and assisted in patient transport. I also did clinical shifts at St. Vincent's Hospital in their emergency department where I obtained patient vitals and medical history, established IVs, did medication administration, and assisted the nurses and medical technicians with patient care. As of right now, I am currently working on getting my associate's degree in Fire Science through UNM-LA. I'm a hard-working driven individual especially when it comes to Fire and EMS. I will go above and beyond when it comes to my knowledge in these subjects by attending trainings and continuing education classes so that I'm able to give better treatment to my patients and help better my community. Thanks to my years of schooling and volunteer work, I am adept in both my problem-solving and decision-making skills. I have also developed the techniques and skills needed to remain calm and level headed during emergencies. These skills allow me to quickly ascertain the situation then devise and implement an appropriate solution.
