I have extensive experience in the care and education of children, combining hands-on teaching with a strong understanding of child psychology and development. As a first-grade student teacher two days a week, I worked closely with students who had reading and writing difficulties, helping them build confidence and improve their literacy skills.
In addition, I currently serve as the lead teacher in an after-school program at Luiseno Elementary School, where I mentor students, organize games and activities, and maintain communication with parents. I am also an active member of Unified Great Oak, where I work daily with special education students, teaching them sports and helping strengthen their fine and gross motor skills.
Beyond the classroom, I stay involved in my community by participating in events such as the Special Education Prom and interpreting in American Sign Language (ASL) for local events like our town’s Christmas parade. I am fluent in ASL and have many friendships within the Deaf community.
I also spent three years as a full-time babysitter for a two-year-old, gaining valuable experience in early childhood care, emotional development, and daily routine management.
