Responsible for interfacing with regional childcare providers to implement best practice recommendations in regard to quality of childhood education. Provide resources, coaching, training, observation and feedback to early childhood programs, directors, and teachers. Worked as specialist/coach with Virginia Quality and currently with VDOE Ready Region 9 in support of VQB5 initiatives.

CLASS certified in Infant, Toddler, and PreK.

• Establish and enforce rules for behavior, and procedures for maintaining order
• Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and field trips
• Teach basic skills such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene, and social skills
• Observe and evaluate children's performance, behavior, social development, and physical health
• Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play
• Identify children showing signs of emotional, developmental, or health-related problems, and discuss them with supervisors, parents or guardians, and child development specialists.

• Meet regularly with parents to discuss children's activities and development
• Help prepare and serve nutritionally balanced meals and snacks for children
• Organize and conduct age-appropriate recreational activities, such as games, arts and crafts, sports, walks, and play dates
• Help develop or monitor family schedule
• Transport children to schools, social outings, and medical appointments
• Perform housekeeping and cleaning duties related to children's care.

• Monitor compliance with health and fire regulations regarding food preparation and serving, and building maintenance in lodging and dining facilities
• Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, and garnishing and presentation of food to ensure that food is prepared and presented in an acceptable manner
• Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality, service, or accommodations
• Count money and make bank deposits
• Monitor budgets and payroll records, and review financial transactions to ensure that expenditures are authorized and budgeted
• Schedule and receive food and beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents to verify product quality and quantity
• Maintain food and equipment inventories, and keep inventory records
• Schedule staff hours and assign duties
• Establish standards for personnel performance and customer service
• Perform some food preparation or service tasks such as cooking, clearing tables, and serving food and drinks when necessary
• Plan menus and food utilization based on anticipated number of guests, nutritional value, palatability, popularity, and costs.
