I started as a host, was promoted to a trainer for new hosts, my hosting duties included seating guests, determining server rotating, maintaining a waitlist for seating, answering phone calls for customers wanting reservations as well as answering questions, along with maintaining cleanliness in the bathrooms and the front entrance. Based on my customer service skills, I was asked to start serving May of 2022. My server duties included, memorizing the menu (including details within the dishes and what they are topped with), restocking and making sure my server stations were clean, making sure guest were comfortable, I was typically in charge of 7-11 tables with 2-6 people at each of those tables, along with keeping the tables and floors clean. I also worked contracted events for large parties (25-50 people), as I was able to maintain a high level of service.
Duties included making sure they were maintaining their schoolwork, driving them to and from practices, and preparing meals for them. Overall making sure they had a good time.
For practice, a custom home building company gave me the chance to volunteer and create realistic floor plans and help redesign their flyers for spec houses. To allow customers to understand the home through a realistic floor plan.
The Club permanently closed as of December 2024.
At the city club, I served for breakfast, lunch and dinner within the restaurant. As well as fine dining for corporate events. I am proficient in how to properly set tables and serve. I learned how to collaborated with kitchen staff for seamless communication and accurate preparation of customized orders. I inspected utensils and dishes for cleanliness. On top of that, I trained new servers on fine dining etiquette and restaurant standards. As a city club we hosted all types of special events and as a server I was asked to memorize and learn new menus often.
My duties included seating tables and managing server rotation while also cleaning tables, running food, grabbing ice, and rolling silverware as a server's assistant. The host position included dueling as a server assistant.
