After my mom passed away in 2020, I found the perfect job that I had been training for my whole life—caregiving for both young and elderly individuals. Throughout these 25 years, I’ve worked with patients who were fully bed-ridden, assisting with bathing, cleaning, managing bed sores, and taking them to doctor appointments, among many other tasks. I’m experienced with using a Hoyer lift and feeding patients through feeding tubes. This work is truly my passion. For the past five years, I’ve cared for the same patient, providing over 60 hours of support each week. Unfortunately, she is now transitioning, which is the hardest part of this job for me. I am always willing to do whatever is needed to make life easier for my patients; no task is too big.
