Summary

I started off as an on the job trained Scrub Tech in a 16 Suite Operating Room in Northeast Georgia. I fell in love with the surgical profession and returned to school to acquire my RN degree in 2002 with completion in 2004. Right after school I took a job at Rochester General in the OR as a circulator in Rochester, NY. After about 6 months I returned to Jones Memorial Hospital (JMH) to work as RN/Scrub Tech. I received my CNOR and RNFA during my role as OR RN. I transitioned to the role of Charge Nurse of a 4 suite OR at Jones Memorial for approximately a year and a half. During my employment at JMH I acquired PICC line training and became the primary person for Ultrasound Guided PICC/Midline insertions when needed for both inpatients and outpatients. I did take a travel assignment in 2011-2012 where I worked at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in the Endoscopy Unit as an RN brushing up on my Endoscopy skills and building my resume by learning some EU type of cases such as EBUS, EUS, FNA's and Navigational Bronchoscopies.
