Summary

Hard work has always been a core part of who I am and who I strive to be. I take great pride in pushing myself to reach my full potential, finding satisfaction and gratitude in the process of growth. I'm dedicated to overcoming challenges and am always focused on finding solutions to the problems I encounter. Critical thinking is one of my strengths, and I’ve honed this skill through years of experience and research as a student. Outside of academics, I’m passionate about giving back to my community. One example of this is my work with Mercy Mall, where I helped collect over 12,000 hygiene products to support families in need. This is just one of many ways I’ve contributed, and I’m committed to continuing these efforts in the future. My goal is to inspire others, especially young people, to get involved and make a positive impact, just as I have.

Volunteer

Law Explorers Mentoring
11.2024 - Current
  • I am proud to be a part of Law Explorers Mentoring, an organization dedicated to promoting career readiness by introducing youth to the foundations of the legal field and criminal justice
  • As a criminal justice student on the CSI track, I believe it's important to share my passion for this field with young people
  • The legal and criminal justice system is essential to society and will always play a key role in our communities, which is why it’s crucial for youth to understand its significance
  • Through this program, we volunteer at local elementary schools, teaching students the basics of the legal system
  • To make learning engaging, we incorporate interactive activities, including mock crime scenes and trials, where the students apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to determine the verdict
  • It’s rewarding to help spark interest in this field while encouraging the development of important life skills in the next generation

Program Assistant

R.E.A.L Girlz
07.2023 - 08.2023
  • Under guidance of Tammie Mobley, I had the opportunity to work with young girls from inner-city Richmond, VA
  • During this experience, I received training in mental health awareness and became CPR certified
  • Tammie also prepared us for real-life scenarios, helping us develop the skills to make positive, impactful decisions
  • The program served girls ages 13-17, and I’m proud to have been part of a team that prioritized responsibility, empowerment, and love
  • Through this experience, I gained valuable workplace readiness skills, while also strengthening my public speaking, planning, problem-solving, and leadership abilities
  • It was truly rewarding to contribute to the development of these young girls while growing personally and professionally

Assistant Program Leader

R.E.A.L Girlz Mentor and Leadership Academy
05.2023 - 05.2023
  • I partnered with a community representative to create the Period Poverty Campaign, which took place during Period Poverty Awareness Week, from May 20-28
  • As the leader of the campaign, I decorated and placed donation boxes at select locations where people could contribute period products for young girls in need
  • The response was incredibly positive, and I received a large number of donations, making the campaign a resounding success
  • I’m truly proud to have contributed to supporting the youth in my community, as we were able to provide period products to girls for the entire summer
  • Moving forward, I plan to continue this initiative every year during Period Poverty Awareness Week
  • Additionally, I aim to expand the campaign to not only support young girls but also assist women in need, including those who are homeless
  • My goal is to ensure that all individuals who face period poverty have access to the products they need, no matter their age or circumstance

Student Teacher

Premiere Dance Academy
09.2021 - 05.2023
  • I was honored to be given the opportunity to serve as a student teacher at my dance studio
  • My role involved providing support to my dance teachers, where I not only gained deeper knowledge of dance and movement but also had the chance to shadow my teacher and learn about the behind-the-scenes of running a successful business
  • I gained valuable insights into how she started and grew her studio, which was both inspiring and educational
  • In addition to assisting with classes, I mentored younger dancers, helping them develop skills such as time management, confidence, emotional awareness, and decision-making
  • It was incredibly rewarding to guide them and serve as a positive role model
  • This experience also came with significant responsibilities, teaching me the importance of always presenting my best self and setting a strong example
  • As part of the student teacher program, I completed over 300 hours of teaching and mentoring, led my own dance class, and created and implemented a lesson plan
  • In recognition of my efforts, I was awarded a certificate for completing the program
  • Through this experience, I strengthened my critical thinking, leadership, accountability, and integrity skills, all of which have been invaluable in my personal and professional growth
