Improving Osteoporosis Screening and Patient Education in High-Risk Groups — Submitted for Review, September 2026

  • Developed a quality improvement initiative aimed at increasing osteoporosis screening among eligible and high-risk adult patients
  • Designed interventions to improve identification of screening-eligible patients, clinician counseling, and completion of dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) screening
  • Incorporated patient education regarding osteoporosis prevention, fracture risk reduction, bone health, calcium and vitamin D intake, and adherence to recommended screening
  • Established a project objective of increasing DXA scan completion rates by approximately 20–30% within three months of intervention implementation
