Prior to the HFG project, he worked as a Policy Research Officer at BasicNeeds, a UK-based International NGO working in the areas of Mental Health and Development where he helped conduct operational research on the Economics of Mental Health and Development in Ghana and embarked on policy advocacy on reducing stigmatization of mental health issues, while helping to reintegrate recovered mentally ill people in their communities through skill development and Livelihood employment creation. Dr. Anarwat was very instrumental in advocacy for the passage of Ghana’s National Health Insurance Law for the establishment of National Health Insurance in Ghana. He received his Ph.D., and MA Social Policy with specialization in Global Health, Health Economics and Development from Brandeis University, Heller School for Social Policy, and Management, and MA Development Studies from the Institute of Statistical Social and Economic Research (ISSER), University of Ghana, Legon, Accra, Ghana, and BA (HONS) Economics and French from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi Ghana Experienced Natural Sciences Manager adept at overseeing scientific research and development projects.
