- As an Access Center Representative, I was the initial contact and provider of information regarding physicians, referrals, product lines, seminar programs, and patient scheduling to hospital personnel, physician offices, staff, and potential patients.
- Our main scheduling was for radiology, cardiopulmonary, and nuclear medicine appointments, with the use of ICD-10 codes.
- During my time in this position, I proved to be a very valuable employee, as I would often ask to be trained in different jobs, as well as handle different responsibilities.
- I would also assist my coworkers who were new to the position and would train them when asked to.
- I grew to be very comfortable speaking with patients and family members when scheduling their appointments.
- Patient appointments were scheduled through an Inspira computer application; however, if a patient was missing information or did not know what they needed, it was also our job to assist them to the best of our ability.
- This included calling over to doctors' offices for specific information, calling translators for patients who needed it, and also defusing any patients who grew hostile.
